About Tony
Tony Pickney is a dedicated professional with a strong background in military and law enforcement. He served 8 years in the US Army National Guard as a Military Police Soldier, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He spent 9 months in Afghanistan (2013-2014) as part of a US Special Operations Command Task Force, focusing on high-value targets during the Global War on Terror (GWOT).
Tony’s military experience includes tasks like Counter Terrorism, Convoy Security, Route Reconnaissance, Direct Action Raids, Area Security, K-9 support, and Criminal Investigations. He also worked as a Law Enforcement Officer on military bases, performing all the duties of a regular police officer.
After his military service, Tony has worked in security and law enforcement for 11 years. He holds several certifications, including Federal Law Enforcement Officer, State Armed Security Guard, Department of Defense Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor, and Georgia State Certified Firearms Instructor.
Tony’s training has covered a wide range of skills, from teamwork and mission planning to decision-making in high-stress situations. His expertise includes small unit tactics, Counter Terrorism, Close Quarters Battle, various breaching techniques, and combat casualty care. In law enforcement, he has been trained in constitutional law, high-risk arrests, handling different types of calls, serving arrest warrants, traffic stops, active shooter response, and self-defense.
What Tony enjoys most about his work is helping and protecting people. He is also passionate about teaching others how to be prepared and defend themselves. He is proud of founding Phoenix Defense Solutions, a company dedicated to security.
Tony has also worked part-time as a security officer, providing event security, protecting news crews, and leading Executive Protection teams for VIPs. His experience includes working for both public and private companies.
Looking ahead, Tony believes that only God knows what the future holds, but he remains committed to serving and protecting others.
